This annual event is hosted by the WSU Community Advisory Board (focused on research) and the Holistic Care Community Advisory Board and supported by the entire clinical team at the WSU Adult HIV/AIDS Program. The event starts with lunch at noon and the program begins at 1:00 and includes an HIV update (provided by one of the HIV Specialists) Consumer testimony and presentation of the Omari Mallisham award to an individual in the HIV community that has fought to make HIV treatment more effective. This years update will be provided by Dr. Patricia Brown, Chief of Medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital and Associate Professor in Infectious Disease.
This event is for all persons infected and affected by HIV, healthcare providers, HIV staff (case managers, counselors) and all interested in remembering those lost to this disease and the current status of the treatment of HIV. There is no cost and all are welcome.
